"something between crayons and yesterday"

You said you'd been having headaches, blackouts. The three of us were at the diner if you will recall. Suddenly I looked over and blood was running out of your nose. Your brain was bleeding. It had reached a point. You got up without much ceremony and went to the bathroom while I meanwhile stared at the big scarlet drop floating in your syrup. It bloomed slowly.

A few days later you took the Greyhound back to Lincoln, much to everyone's relief, yours included. It was sad for us on many accounts of course, as the end of a chapter. But not the last chapter thank god. The choose-your-own-adventure continues. We haven't died yet old pal.

Oh god, this got me a little choked up. Both the situation and your description of it.

He's still having headaches. I didn't know it had been going on so long until reading this.

I don't know a lot of things these days, but I probably never did.

I miss Jake. The one I (thought I?) knew and (definitely) loved is gone.

Sorry, sometimes I can't help being morose.

Hi, by the way. I just remembered your blog existed. I have one too. www.myspace.com/epo918. The last one I posted does mention Jake, but I swear he's not taking up many of my thoughts, relatively, anymore.

Are you gonna be in town for Christmas?

hello liz. i'll be in lincoln around new years, so we'll probably see each other in the mad swirl of things...the incestuousness of the universe only increases with the passage of time.

any word from joe?

Heh. Yeah, feeling better today than when I posted that last one.

Cool. I'll be here around New Year's too.

I dunno, Alan, all systems tend toward entropy, some say. Then again, it is Lincoln.

I don't know about Joe. I've talked to him pretty briefly a couple times since he left. He didn't sound too enthused and gave vague answers when I asked if he thought he'd like it there.

I would assume he's coming back for Christmas, but I need to check on that...
